Officina meccanica Porro specialises in the production of metal furniture fittings. Set up in 1946 by Alfredo Porro in the early years the accent was typically on manual skills, poor in means and technology, but rich in enthusiasm, invention and determination.

This type of start is typical of industry in the Brianza area, particularly in the furniture sector. The first milestone came in 1958 more than a decade after the end of the war, with construction of a new factory, later extended in a number of phases.

The start of the new millennium marks a further turning point in the company’s history, with construction of new premises. Conceived and designed around the product and production process, the new factory will enable the company to launch out onto the global market, taking on the challenges and combining technological innovation and organisation with creativity and design.
